In case you missed it, there's a new Netflix show that's taken the world by storm. If you haven't seen Emily in Paris yet, don't worry your pretty little heads because I am here to give you all the information you need to start watching like..now.
Emily is a 20-something Chicago professional who suddenly finds herself in Paris to bring an American perspective to French marketing. Aside from the backlash from actual French people and the (at times) cringe-worthy American outlook on life, Emily in Paris is a lovely and lighthearted watch that is bursting with wine, very attractive men and of course, fashion.
I was looking at some of the outfits from the show, and the original pieces add up quick let me tell ya. So, if you're also interested in dressing like Emily this season, here are some Target alternatives and inspirations!
1. "You...Look American"
In the pilot episode, Emily wears a black and yellow ensemble in the Jardin du Palais Royal, a gorgeous park. Paired with some black heels and a black and yellow print bag, this outfit makes me want to romp around the Champs-Élysées on a summer evening.

For Your Closet
Instead of choosing a dress that was patterned, I made the bag the statement piece, and went with this mustard slip dress. Keep your jewelry minimal so that the dress and the bag take center stage. When it gets colder outside, slip on a yellow cardigan in a similar tone and trade the beaded bag for a black cross body!

2. "Let Them Eat Cake"
The halter neck! The jacket! The boot detail! *chef's kiss* Dressing in colors that complement your skin's natural undertones is one of the best things you can do, because then you stand out just as much as the fabric! Lily Collins and I have very similar undertones...maybe that's why I like this one so much...

For Your Closet
Emily is definitely someone who likes to make a statement with patterns and colors. I like to do it with textures, so for this outfit, I toned down the colors a bit and found one of the most interesting jackets I've ever seen. The jacket and dress are more relaxed since they have a looser fit, but delicate jewelry and a nice bag elevate the look. Tying everything back into the colors of the dress keeps this look from being too overwhelming.

3. "A Little Complicated"
Netflix knew exactly what they were doing when they dropped this show in October, because just like Outer Banks influenced summer fashion, our gal Emily is gonna have a ton of influence on fall fashion. This is a perfect example. Comfortable, cute, weather-proof. It checks all the boxes.

For Your Closet The red, pink and brown in this sweater are a great autumn trio, and with a speckled beanie and lucite, pearlescent sunglasses, this look is anything but boring. Whether you're going pumpkin picking or to a cottage in the French countryside, this is a great outfit to wear!

Here are some honorable mentions from Emily's season 1 wardrobe. Let me know what your favorite look of the show was!
xx, Chloe
